The Valley County Democrat Central Committee has unanimously voted this week to endorse Mayor Shelby Rognstad for Governor on the Democratic Primary Ballot. Here is why:
Shelby has been running an aggressive campaign since November and has been endorsed by many Democrats from across the state. He has over 17 years of community and political experience and is only the second mayor to be elected twice in Sandpoint.
The issues he plans to fight for include healthcare, education, public lands, and state government overreach which we see expanding and continue to expand into our personal freedoms and taking away local control.
We see Shelby as the most qualified, dedicated, strategic, respectful, realistic candidate to endorse, vote for and see win the primary and be the best candidate representing democratic values to run against the Republican opponent in the general election this fall.
As you know, Shelby is running a write-in campaign so we want to be sure everyone knows how to vote for Shelby so your vote counts! Regardless of your affiliation, you can request a democratic ballot at your local polling place this Tuesday, May 17th. Polls are open 8 am to 8 pm.
