WHO CAN VOTE IN THE NOV. 6 ELECTION?
Anybody can vote in the November election regardless of party affiliation.
WHEN IS THE LAST DAY I CAN REGISTER TO VOTE?
Your voter registration application must be received or postmarked no later than 30 days before Election Day. The last day to pre-register yourself to vote is Oct. 12. You can still register at the polls on Election Day.
2018 NOVEMBER ELECTION DEADLINES
Last day to pre-register to vote: Oct. 12 until 5 p.m. (Election Day Registration is available) Fill out this form to register: Fill out this form and send it to your county clerk
Last day to request a mail-in absentee ballot: Oct. 26, no later than 5:00 p.m. Fill out this form to request an absentee ballot.
Last day for Early Voting: Nov. 2, until 5:00 p.m. at the Valley County Offices, County Clerk, Cascade.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO VOTE IN IDAHO?
In order to register to vote in Idaho, you must:
- Have been a citizen of the United States and resided in Idaho for at least one month before Election Day
- Be at least 18 years old on or before Election Day

WHAT IF I?M AN IDAHO RESIDENT, BUT I WON?T BE IN MY ELECTION DISTRICT ON ELECTION DAY?
If you can?t make it to the polls on Election Day or would like to vote from home, you can send in an absentee ballot by mail. Idaho has no-excuse absentee voting.
November Election: The deadline to request your absentee ballot is 5:00 p.m. on Oct. 26th and your ballot must be returned by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 6th. Fill out this form and send it to your County Clerk.
DO I NEED TO SHOW MY ID TO VOTE?
You are not required to present a photo ID when voting. You can sign a Personal Identification Affidavit and you will be issued a ballot to be tabulated with all other ballots.
All voters who appear at a polling place for the first time must show proof of identification. That means if you voted in Idaho in a previous election, but have moved and are now voting at a new polling location you will be required to show ID and proof of residency at the new polling location.
WHAT FORM OF VOTER ID CAN I USE TO VOTE?
Forms of photo identification may be any one of the following:
- An Idaho driver?s license or Idaho photo identification card.
- A U.S. passport or Federal photo identification card.
- A tribal photo identification card.
- A current student photo ID, issued by an Idaho high school or postsecondary education institution.
- A license to carry a concealed weapon issued by a county sheriff in Idaho.
WHAT IF I?M A VETERAN, ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE MILITARY, OR CIVILIAN TRAVELING OR LIVING ABROAD?
